"We got a standard room as a special offer. It was excellent - from the taxi drop off you could wheel a suitcase to the pedestrian area. The sign is in Chinese but while we were translating, staff came out to take suitcases. I appreciated tea and dressing gowns in room. Breakfast was 5 options inc one western. Excellent location. My room was quiet and very spacious."

"The staff was friendly and professional, always greeting hotel guest whenever walking around. The lobby is located at the 7th floor, but direction is clear and easily spot, just right beside Four Points Sheraton. Check in on Christmas eve and the reception gift us an apple gift. Breakfast is good, plenty choices. Room keeping service is great too, clean towel provided everyday, and the bed do tidy up (which some hotel they don’t). The location is superb, right in the busiest street, accessible to shopping mall and Kunming old street."

"This hotel is the last hotel we stayed throughout our 16 nights trip and its a great decision to choose this hotel. After long days of travel, we had a very comfortable stay and rest in this hotel. Staff is very thoughtful and attentive from the moment we entered, offered us warm tea. Also enjoyed the breakfast selection, will recommend the cross bridge mixian for a comforting meal in the cold weather. Upon checking out, the staff also kindly helped us with our luggages to bring over to the Didi pickup point. Overall great stay and would love to come back again :)"

"This is a newly opened hotel, and the rooms are very new and smart. You can control the curtains just by speaking to Tmall Genie, and the toilet is also motion-sensing. One thing I was particularly happy about with the room was the separate dry and wet areas in the bathroom! The breakfast was also quite good, with a decent variety, especially the small pot rice noodles, which were perfectly to my taste ʕ•͈⚇•͈ʔ ~ Also, the ladies at the front desk were incredibly enthusiastic and even offered us water. Their homemade lemon water was quite delicious, I loved it! 🥰 All in all, next time I come to Kunming, I'll definitely stay at this hotel again. Highly recommend! Highly recommend!!"

"Totoro Elf Hotel is a convenient stay, especially if location is your top priority, though there are a few things to take note of before booking. Location: The location is excellent—right in the epicenter of shopping areas. It’s about 15 minutes to Kunming Old Street and 5–10 minutes walk to several shopping malls, making it extremely convenient for food, shopping, and exploring the city. Lobby & Storage: The lobby is quite small, but they do offer locker storage that fits small luggage. This is ideal for travelers using Kunming as a first stop who want to drop off items, Taobao purchases, or excess luggage before heading to another city. Service: The staff were friendly and polite during the stay. However, WeChat responses before check-in were slow or sometimes non-existent, taking 1–2 days to reply. Once checked in, communication became much faster and more responsive. Laundry Facilities: The washing room operates on a fixed schedule (8am–8pm) and is very crowded, as many guests use it. Doing laundry here may not be ideal if you’re in a rush. With the high volume of users, it’s best to keep an eye on your clothes to avoid any mix-ups. Bathroom & Room: The bathtub drainage was surprisingly impressive—water drained fully within about 10 minutes, which was a pleasant surprise. However, the walkway from the bathtub to the room gets very wet. Providing two floor mats would greatly help keep the room dry. The room itself is very small. If you’re traveling with two large suitcases plus two small ones, space will be extremely tight—good luck navigating the room. Overall: Totoro Elf Hotel is best suited for travelers who prioritize location and convenience over space. It works well for short stays or shopping-focused trips, but those with large luggage or laundry needs may want to plan accordingly."

"Arrived at the front desk was greeted and served by 大肘子 swift and polite response with a friendly and caring team. 大肘子 constantly checking on guest for any concerns and comfortability during my stays. The hotel is located in the heart of great amenities, shopping malls, 24/7 street food stalls as soon as you stepped out. Walking distance to Old Beijing street with lots of shops and attractions. The hotel is well maintained and cleaned. The room is cleaned and spacious, well equipped with a good hair dryer and a clothes steamer. There is a gym, laundry room with detergent for Free usage. The breakfast offers a wide range of varieties. Overall the front staffs are helpful. Definitely recommend this hotel ."
